Tech Firm Reducing Pollution & Climate Change.
Climate change is happening and there is no doubt that the world is feeling the force. Rising sea levels risk low-lying coastal areas to go deep underwater. Forest fires rampaging throughout. Heat waves causing people to collapse and dehydrate. Heavy human pollution is causing habitat loss and wildlife disappearing. Many unfortunate happenings all over the world. If nature continues to suffer, not only will the turtles die, but all of humanity as well.
Fortunately, there are good organizations made out of determined people who fight for the planet. People are fighting to conserve forests instead of reducing them to rubble. People are demanding companies for sustainability. These are good steps towards a better future wherein civilization can develop without sacrificing the entirety of nature.

New technologies have arrived in the pursuit for a sustainable future, and more are being developed as time passes. Climate change is a global concern and isn’t isolated to a few countries. If it is to be solved or at the very least its impact reduced - a global effort enabled by new technologies are needed. What are the new technologies that could aid this effort?
It is undeniable that plastic is found everywhere from candy wrapping to even electronic products. Although versatile and useful it is also polluting the landscape. The plastic bag people use takes about 10-20 years to decompose. If it isn’t plastic it is most likely a paper bag. Although easily recyclable and decompose in just 2-6 weeks, paper bags still break easily and soak up water leading to holes. Is there an alternative material similar to plastic without the disadvantage of polluting the world even more? Bioplastics could be the solution the world is looking for. A team found that microorganisms feeding on plastic produced a polymer named polyhydroxyalkanoate. Making plastic out of this substance would lead to similar yet vastly more sustainable form of plastic.
Humans have been burning fossil fuel for hundreds of years, but the world has felt the impact since the industrial revolution when burning it took off exponentially. Burning these fossils may power cities globally, but they contribute heavy amounts of greenhouse gases that trap head in the atmosphere. The question is if there is a way to produce copious amounts of these gases is there a way to vacuum it out of the atmosphere? DAC or Direct air capture is the technology that does this.
Although it sounds great, it doesn’t seem to be the single solution the world needs. The machine still is costly and uses power to even work. The most effective form of reducing carbon emission is still through not emitting it. Reducing the carbon footprint from fossil fuels means finding new sources of energy to power millions of homes across the world. Technology utilizing the many forms of renewable energy have been around for a long time. From wind turbines to hyrdoelectric dams the world is finally embracing these changes to make way for a more sustainable future. One of the biggest future projects is a hydroelectric plant in the Democratic Republic of Congo. It will be the largest hydroelectric project yet. Australia’s renewable energy has been rapidly growing. Even private companies like Amazon are making a change by funding a wind farm in Ireland and a solar farm in the United States.
The world climate has been changing rapidly due to human activities. Much of Earth’s wildlife are threatened. Forests are shrinking drastically. However, even with everything seeming brim there is still a better future that new technology and innovative visionaries can turn to. Collaboration between nations and placing a sustainable future ahead of economic returns are better not only for people now but people generations into the future.
